What advantages are there in using Studio Medics and why is it so important to choose the right healthcare options:-

On the spot medical assistance cannot be left to chance. It makes the difference between living and dying. That’s why Studio Medics only employ the highest calibre staff, all with National Health Service qualifications and extremely experienced in providing emergency medical services outside of a clinical area. Studio Medics has its own Medical Director who compliments the services we provide as he can make visits to patients who do not require hospitalisation but are unwell. He is able to offer prescriptions where necessary and the medication can be supplied by the local pharmacy. This eliminates the need for lengthy waiting times at accident and emergency units.
Studio Medics has extremely good links with London’s premier private hospitals and eminent Physicians and Surgeons. Immediate appointments can be arranged throughout all specialties.

How do we provide an extremely safe service? We do this by ensuring that we comply to the extremely high standards of our Medical Director who overseas, implements and monitors all treatment and processes that are in place. We can offer the services of a General Practitioner should the occasion arise. This service is a part of the Studio Medics service and can often alleviate the need for hospital treatment or the necessity to call for an ambulance. This service is particularly useful when the patient is not in their local vicinity and thus does not have the services of their own General Practitioner.

Links to the NHS. Studio Medics have a close working relationship with the NHS and use all equipment in line with their standards. This enables the NHS to use the equipment provided by Studio Medics should transportation be required. This is an essential part of ensuring that the “golden hour” care is of the highest quality. It enables the patient to receive continuity of care, particularly when spinal boards, neck collars, monitoring equipment, and immobilising equipment are present.
If a patient has been immobilised and the equipment being used is not of the same standard and specification as is being used by the NHS the patient would have be moved from one piece of equipment to another. In order to ensure that this does not happen Studio Medics have liaised with the East of England Ambulance Service to ensure that all equipment used is exactly in line with current standards. Thus the patient will be transported on Studio Medics Equipment and this eliminates the need to move the patient unnecessarily.
Studio Medics have regular meetings with the NHS Ambulance Service and this allows an emergency ambulance to be sent out directly rather than the time consuming allowance of a solo medic to access the situation prior to this transport being sent. This is not normal NHS practice but is applicable to Studio Medics at Elstree Studios only due to close working relationship which has been formed.
We use the most up to date medical equipment including heart monitors, defibrillators, medical gasses, spinal boards, scoop stretchers, immobilising splints from Loxley (frac-pac) to inflatables, all these items are in line and compatible with those currently used within the NHS Ambulance Service. We also provide all equipment and dressings etc to deal with any manner of injury that should occur.

We have a widespread experience in location work. This includes TV and Film as well as many professional sporting events:-

Football Teams including Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur
Rugby Union including the Saracens and Wasps
Ice Skating including British Ice Skating Championships
Eventing and Show Jumping at various indoor and outdoor facilities

We are also experienced in dealing with high profile individuals including the Royal Household, Governmental Officials, International royalty and officials as well as Celebrities from the UK and across the Atlantic.

We have a wealth of quality staff to choose from thus enabling us to select and provide the right calibre of staff for the particular job required. For example when location work is required only qualified ambulatory staff would be used. These specialised medics are fully trained in being able to deal with emergency situations outside of the clinical conditions provided by a hospital. This is extremely important as dealing with a life threatening situation possibly 30 feet in the air is completely different to saving lives in a clinical environment such as an emergency area in a hospital.

Studio Medics keep computerised data on all patient information including symptoms, treatment and outcome. In line with Health and Safety a copy of the treatment record is issued to the Production Company.

Studio Medics provide a highly confidential service and is extremely aware of the privacy needs of individual patients particularly when dealing with famous people. It is guaranteed that all data protection standards are fully met.
